The ASUS G73Jw-A1 brings a near cinematic experience to the 17.3 inch screen that is back lit well enough and yet not too much at the same time. With a matte finish on both the screen and the exterior, there is no gloss anywhere to cause glares and distractions while gaming at home or in a larger gaming venue, as long as the screen is angled appropriately.

While the lighting of both the screen and the keyboard are pleasing in both well-lit and darker environments, the sound quality of the ASUS G73Jw-A1 does leave something to be desired. With average sized speakers, this laptop’s sound quality is average in comparison with other brands in its class.

With perks and options such as support for 3DTV play, three USB ports, and Ethernet port and an SDHC card reader, the ASUS G73Jw-A1 is a great gaming laptop option for gamers on the go.

While the sound does leave some to be desired, the keyboard makes up for some of that lack in that it is full sized with soft touch noises and a sensitive good sized touchpad. The touchpad is well sized in that doubling back to continue does not have to happen as often as with smaller pads.

The ASUS G73Jw-A1 is a bit bulkier than several laptops in its class and, at first glance, this is a negative feature until realization sets in on why the bulk exists. Two good-sized exhaust fans are installed along the back edge of the ASUS G73Jw-A1, making the boost in bulk well worth it and an advantage instead of a disadvantage. Gamers can fall into those marathon gaming sessions and never worry about an uncomfortably hot or overheating laptop. All in all, the ASUS G73Jw-A1 is a plus in gaming laptops and will likely serve the diehard gamer well.
