- Pocket PC or Windows Smartphone running Windows Mobile® 5.0 or 6.0
Limitations and Known Problems
Limitations
- Creating categories on mobile devices is not supported. The existing categories can be assigned on the Pocket PC only.
- Template notes are view-only, they cannot be created or edited.
- Text does not wrap in text notes.
Installation and Platform Support
- This version is not optimized for PDAs and phones with full VGA screens.
Browsing and Rendering
- When the device is low on memory it may be unable to display large notes.
- Clicking near the bottom of the screen selects text instead of scrolling.
- Excessive fast pressing on keys while scrolling may temporarily slow EverNote.
- Tape scrolling may appear slow initially as EverNote creates thumbnails of embedded images. Once this process completes, tape scrolling will accelerate.
- SmartSearch may appear slow in large EverNote databases.
- Ink notes cannot be collapsed, although this functionality exists for text notes.
Creating and Editing Notes
- Text notes larger than 256KB cannot be edited on a mobile device.
- Editing settings in EverNote for Pocket PC requires a stylus.
- Underline style is disabled but its grayed out icon is present.
- Strikethrough style does not function on Pocket PC and is unavailable on Smartphone.
- Bold and italic do not return selected text to its original style when pressed twice.
- A selected color in the ink note toolbar is not saved after editing is completed.
- On certain models of Palm® Treo®, snapshot notes function does not use the snapshot resolution settings.
- A category cannot be marked by tapping on the checkbox in the Categories List on Pocket PC.
- When you open and edit Ink Notes using a joystick, notes may occasionally appear “empty”. Close and re-open the note to re-display its content. To permanently avoid this display issue, use Options>More>Edit Note instead of the joystick to open Ink notes for editing.
Miscellaneous
- Starting your device from sleep mode may occasionally close the EverNote database. If this happens, re-open the database.
- Password-protected databases open on mobile devices without a password prompt.
